Join the Directory of Learned Societies

The Directory of Learned Societies (DoLS) welcomes learned societies from all disciplines and countries. International, regional, national and local societies, as well as umbrella organisations, are all eligible to join the directory.

How to join

Adding a society to DoLS consists of three steps. Once the required information has been submitted, the Management Committee reviews the application before the society is added to the directory.

Register your society in ROR

If your society is not yet included in the Research Organization Registry (ROR), submit a request using the ROR Request Form. When registering, select the most appropriate organisation category, typically "Other".

Submit your society to DoLS

Complete the DoLS submission form.

Please include:

the society's ROR ID
the titles and ISSNs of all journals published or co-published by the society

Fill in DoLS submission form

Verification

The DoLS Management Committee reviews each submission to ensure that it falls within the scope of the directory. Once approved, the society is added to DoLS.

The current submission process applies to the first version of DoLS and may evolve as the directory develops.
