What types of communities can apply for membership?
Registered associations and other registered communities that promote scientific research may apply for TSV membership.
Membership applications are accepted round the year. In order for the application to be processed at next year’s spring meeting, it must be received by 30 November of the current year at the latest. Applications are evaluated on the basis of TSV's membership criteria.

This is how membership applications are processed
An expert statement, in which the fulfilment of the membership criteria is assessed, is requested on each membership application. These statements are primarily requested from members of TSV's Board. If necessary, a statement may also be requested from an expert outside the Board, ensuring that the application can be assessed with sufficient expertise.
The processing of the form proceeds as follows:
- Submit the membership application.
- TSV requests an expert statement on the application.
- TSV's Board processes the application.
- TSV's Board submits a proposal on new members to the spring meeting.
- TSV's spring meeting makes a decision on new members.
- TSV informs all applicants of the decision as soon as possible after the spring meeting.
Communities admitted as members will receive additional information on practices relating to the membership and instructions for notifying TSV of their contact persons, communication addressed at members and maintaining the member society's information.
