TSV work community
The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies employs specialists in diverse positions working for science. The TSV work community also includes the personnel of the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity and the Committee for Public Information.
In 2026:
- The work community consisted of a total of 44 permanent and 5 fixed-term employees.
- The work community is highly educated: nearly 84% of the permanent staff had at least a bachelor’s degree and 73% had a master’s degree or a doctoral degree.
- The age structure of the employees is similar to that in the public sector in general. The average age of permanent employees is 49.8 years
- Of the permanent staff, 57 per cent are women and 43 per cent men.
Most of the work community members work at the House of Science and Letters in the district of Kruununhaka in Helsinki. TSV also has two other places of business: the Bookstore Tiedekirja in Kruununhaka and the Publication Warehouse in Itäkeskus.
Equality and non-discrimination
At the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV), we promote equality and non-discrimination and combat discrimination. We want to ensure that all our employees are treated equally and that everyone can work in a safe and respectful working environment.
We take equality and non-discrimination into account in recruitment, pay, work arrangements and the competence development of the staff. We also promote the accessibility of our offices and online services.
We are currently preparing the equality and non-discrimination plan for 2026–2027. The planning involves a working group on equality and non-discrimination, which promotes equality and enhances competence related to the matter in our work community.
