In 2023, the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) prepared a project plan and roadmap for the development of the worldwide directory of learned societies:

• 2024: conceptualization and technical planning and implementation on the first version of DoLS, and conducting a pilot study identifying learned societies in ROR
• 2025: launching the DoLS website and first version of the portal, communication and outreach activities, engaging stakeholders 
• 2026: establishing international advisory council, engaging societies for community building  

Work-in-progress:

• adding individual societies with RoR ID to the directory (fill in the form if you want to suggest a new addition)
• adding batches of societies from specific countries and regions (send email to dols@tsv.fi if you are interested in collaboration)
• seeking project funding for the further development, extension and improvement of the directory
• raising awareness and seeking synergies with projects, infrastructures and stakeholders
• improving the DoLS website and portal (please send feedback and suggestions by email to dols@tsv.fi)
