This first version of the Directory of Learned Societies (DoLS) integrates two data sources: (1) data from the Research Organization Registry (ROR), which provides a foundational dataset of organizational types and geographical distributions of learned societies, (2) enhanced ISSN portal data, which details scholarly journals, thereby linking learned societies with their respective publication channels.
